On Thursday, February 21, 2008, the town of Wells, Nevada, was struck by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake that damaged an estimated 400-700 homes, the high school and some churches.

Justin and Cindy Pearson helped by housing a displaced family and providing child care. Wells Baptist Church members Karla Hartsell (EMT), Lupe Quintero, Adelina Sosa, Carmen Salazar, and Margie June Stork provided witnessing and outreach to various local groups.
